While older, refurbished trucks do not have all of the bells and whistles of the new rigs, they are reliable. This is because their engines are simple and less likely to break down. The more computerized and complicated a new truck engine is, the more that can go wrong with it, leading to less time on the road and less profitability.
Savvy truckers know that an older, restored rig is a wise decision. Lower costs, less time in the shop and more reliability are what matter. A new truck is flashy, but it also eats into the bottom line.
