The CVSA 2019 International Roadcheck results are now available. While "this year's focus was on steering and suspension systems," "braking systems, tires and wheels, and brake adjustment" were the top problems. You can compare the 2019 results to 2018, and you will see that these were the top three findings last year.
Not only are trucks and drivers "out-of-service," but also drivers and companies are being faced with fines that can put their trucking operations out-of-business for good. With our shortage of truck drivers, this is alarming.
Why are trucking operations taking the chance of transporting goods without drivers with proper qualifications? There are trucking companies and CDL schools that offer exceptional training. At CDL schools, applicants may qualify for financial help.
Here are the fines, as reported by CDLLife at the end of 2018. Take a look at the finding among truck drivers, from the 2019 International Roadcheck. There were "714" CDL violations. The penalty could have covered the cost of CDL school, or at least half, per information found on the average truck driving schools, reported on Trucker's Training.
For anyone looking to enter into the trucking industry, as a CDL driver, Trucking Truth gives an excellent recap of information for our Indiana residents. "It is not required, but it is highly recommended that you take a CDL education course to help you through the process."
Again found on Trucking Truth, you can look for "Paid CDL Training Over Private CDL Training." While the difference can be cost savings, you may want the flexibility to look for a driving position with multiple companies. The more qualified you empower yourself to be with the endorsements, the more hirable you will be, and the more money you will make.
